I got pockets!
A week or so ago now I posted a VIDEO to my channel that is all things about this new die coming soon to ScrapbookCom called A2 NOTCHED POCKET ENVELOPE. Now. Warning here. I love pockets. So. It should really be no surprise to anyone how much I am enjoying this pocket and the notched-ness and how practical, fun, as well as utilitarian this is becoming in my making. It is for sure part of the ‘stays near the workspace’ kind of tool.
So far there have been a couple of ways I am putting this pocket to work. Read on to see how that is happening.
Often there are bits and bobs, ephemera and what not that very often lands in a pile in my Memory Planner stash. I like to keep postcards sent to me. Ticket stubs. Or really cool packaging. But mostly I like to keep something that has a memory to it. Since there were said post cards in that growing pile on top of my Memory Planner, I used the POCKET ENVELOPE DIE and die cut vellum to craft a holdie thing for the back of my Memory Planner. Sometimes things do not really fit on the page of the Memory Planner week. This was a great use of the A2 Pocket Envelope in my opinion.
OK. Next idea. You may have already seen this if you subscribe to the YouTube Channel. In that episode I shared how this die is used and the die cutting machine that is good for its cutting. Then I explained how this pocket will be making its home inside a 6x8 ALBUM I am working on presently. Hole punched it fits perfectly and holds a really fun little story. Plus, I just went to adding an embellished cluster to the front of that envelope and tah dah! Pretty and practical! Watch that video HERE to see this from start to finish.
These next two pocket makes are pretty in all their layers. This first one here places a window front and center. I mentioned that in the video that this is a great space to add a vellum or acetate window. And sure enough. This is such a great way to elevate the card giving. I often say, when the card is the gift. Pretty sure this pocket will be utilized for a lot of my gifting to come. And totally getting ahead of myself…but Valentines!!! Oh yeah! Add that to the list, Jamie!
Just wanted to share this one here that was recently made as well. It’s a good reminder: when you have all the supplies and tools out just make more than one. You never know when and where you can make use of it. Surely someone you know needs a lovely thank you hand made by you. Well. Here is an idea that will keep on giving + all the love you have for pockets.
Hope you found some inspiration in this post today. I mean, paper, die cutting, layers, goodness. What is not to like? Let me know if you have any questions. And thank you for reading this article today.
