What’s the Big Deal With the Distress Spritz Anyway

what's new, shimmery and just pretty?

It’s been about ten or so days now since the new Distress Spritz has been released and I have started to think, now what, Jamie, what is the big deal with the Spritz? Why are you sort of gushing over this new product, pray tell?

Well. For one thing. It’s new.

I know. That’s weird. New. So that’s what makes the Distress Spritz worth gushing about? New? Well, yes, actually. It does. New things are fun. It’s always fun to look forward to a thing. Honestly, the anticipation can be everything. But then, there is the unboxing. The discovering of the new thing. The exploring of how it works. So new is a reason. The creative practicing of how it works. What it can do. Why it works. So yes, new is a reason.

Secondly, it’s a shimmery product that is very easy to use.

As I share in the included video, there are various ways to use the Distress Spritz. It easily brings white surfaces to shimmery life. It gives stamped images a fun touch of glimmer. And what a beautiful hue it brings to ribbons (that is not in the first distress video but rather in the second one you can find HERE).

The shimmer does not scream shine at you. It’s subtle. Providing a different sort of finish to that which it has been sprayed on. It’s not saturated like a Distress Stain. It’s not a mica-finish like the Mica Stains. Which, in my opinion, makes it a very easy product to use. You can’t really go wrong with it. Since the color is not overwhelming, you can trust that you will add the shimmer you need without it taking over the project.

Then thirdly, the reason I gush over this, is that it is Distress. Distress Oxide and even regular Distress ink pads are my go-to inks to use for stamping. For about five years now I have been unpacking the techinques with these ink pads, and I’m a fan. I love the colors. I love how they stamp and ink papers and create individualized looks. So then, I now adore that these Spritzs also match and compliment an existing product I am already using. That’s! why I am gushing over the Distress Spritz.

And something tells me there is more to discover with this as well too, which is it’s own inspiration, for sure.
