i call it a mom mini
It's call a Mom Mini as it is a gift of photos and words for my mom for her birthday. And is that not one of the best gift ideas...photo and words...plus all the pretty stuff that surrounds it?
So, Mom, if you are reading, stop now...LOL!!!
I have had this idea for using word dies to highlight the 'see-through' element provided by dies structured just like this. I mean, come on...we are here for the dies, right? We are here for how to use them. We are here for how to use them in multiple ways. And that's what this post and project is all about.
The 'hooray' die is from a Hip Hop Hooray Die Set. Do you remember when I flubbed that up in THIS unboxing video? Well. It's just haunted me ever since. And while it is 'suppose' to be an Easter die set, I was like: 'let's see what else we can do with it'. And this mini album, with a waterfall of papers and dies cut into those papers, was born.
Love me a see through element. That peek a boo factor that invites one to the next page. It's a small thing. Kind of. But with a lovely impact. It's this technique I shared using three word dies on three pages. But don't stop there. Keep adding them in. Just make sure you know how your page is going to look in the mini album. And go from there. Watch the VIDEO TUTORIAL to see what I mean.
And...can we just talk about that Krafty Garden from 49 and Market for a minute? Because I am hard swooning over this collection. It's taken over the studio. It's always found on the workspace. And I am just waiting for the butterflies to show up in my backyard for a full exploitation of this collection of loveliness. Oh my word do I love when I love papers and elements and making them work with other tools in the studio.
Brag book anyone? Yes. This could be called a brag book. While the technique seems a bit complicated, it is not. However, the mini as a whole is very concise. Meaning, it's not large, hence the 'mini'. It only holds a few photos. It was a perfect way for me to grab my favorite photos from Mother's Day and gift my own mother these photos right back. Celebration on a page, right? Yes! That is exactly what that is. Photo, love, people, celebration.
Here is a little sneak of the closure. It's a little technique found at the end of the video. Now this is a super easy thing to make. And can be implemented over and over again. Trust me on this one and try it.
Yep. We are for sure more than words can say. And my mama would agree. That said, let's not forget the words. There is plenty of room in this mini album to add all the sentiments. All the words. Maybe even a quote or two that sums up your sentiment for your gift recipient. Just a suggestion, because sky is seriously the limit as to what to make this album. Can't wait to make more of them myself. Can't wait to see your version.
Watch how this comes together in this video here. And thank you so much in advance for watching.
