Something to love about these fun social media events like a National Scrapbook Day is the reminder that these kind of days bring. As this week/day has approached, it's been cause to pause and think about story telling. To take a look at the 'scrapping' happening here, or not happening, as is sometimes the case. It's just a good opportunity to review, reflect and maybe even reset.

National Scrapbook Day is being celebrated this week with a return to this vacation album I began last September. And because our stories never expire, this album was right where I left it ready for me to pick it up and continue with all the photos and journaling I want to include.

This National Scrapbook Day I have recorded actually a couple of videos that gave focus to this vacation album. One can be found now on my own YouTube Channel. Then another will pick right up and share another page tutorial over on the ScrapbookCom YouTube channel on May 4. So it's a multi-video weekend.

In these National Scrapbook Day videos, I'm sharing a look at this album, and then for today's video, there is a serious step by step making of that left hand side page from start to finish.

Then the video is rounded out with how the left side page is inspiring the right hand side of the page. How repeating elements gives cohesiveness to a page. How colors chosen just right will allow a page to pop and encourage the reader to dive in a little deeper. See what I did there...dive in...LOL.

This National Scrapbook Day I hope these videos share with you easy ways to create impactful layouts. And not only once, but multiple times. As you will see on those channels, I'm not afraid to repeat page layouts either. And while there are still a few more pages to be added in, you are gonna find that happening again as the album gets completed. And I'm not even apologizing for it. If a page sketch works for you, use it again and again.
