World Card Making Day 2023

What a wonderful time of year.
Do you 'participate' in World Card Making Week and Day?
It's this weekend. I'm a little late with the posting. But there has been a lot going on this week.

So the question again:
Do you participate in WCMD?

And just how can you do that?

Quite frankly, while there is a little specificity to the event, there is a broad way of looking at this fun making week too.

Firstly, it's said, that World Card Making Day ushers in the card making season. The time of year where we makers and paper craft artist bring paper and ink and die and whatever else we love to the table and start crafting our cards we will be sending out at Christmas time.

Have you begun your holiday cards yet? Did you dive in this weekend?

Secondly, another idea in the card making, is to take a week or a day, or even gather your paper crafting friends, and batch your card making for the whole year. Or, at least as best you can. Which I think is a fantastic idea. Do you do that? Do you batch create cards to have birthday and anniversary and even get well cards at the ready?

Thirdly, do you know the history of card giving? They were originally calling cards. Announcing your arrival to someone's home. We are not as formal as that these days. But why not? Whenever you visit a friend, bring a card or hand made tag with you. A sort of hostess gift. Do you do that? Do you bring a card with you when you visit a friend's home? How fun would that be if we started sharing our hand made gestures more often in that way?

OK...so...fourthly, and this is not by any means official, but Card Making Day is a great reason to take a FREE CLASS. With that in mind, I have provided just that on my YouTube Channel. It's a free class that is using the new collection from 49 and Market called Spice. In that video I am using a paper pack that was a free gift during WCMD from ScrapbookCom. While that product is no longer available, the collection is now fully available at the SBC. Click through the LINKS to discover that amazing new paper goodness.

Hey friends...when you shop the links in this blog I receive a small kick back from your sales from ScrapbookCom and Heidi Swapp Shop. There is absolutely no extra cost to you at all! But these commissions help to cover the costs of this blog to provide you with project ideas. I want to continue to bring you FREE inspiration. Shopping these links allows me to do just that. I can't thank you enough for your love and continued support. Also, the opinions expressed in my blog and my YouTube Channel and all social platforms are independently my own.

Along with the 4th point, I wanted to share a couple of Distress Oxides that will go with this new collection. I know...sort of digressing from the main point of this post, but if you are new here, well...I do that a lot. And it's OK. There are many of you that follow Jamie Page Designs on Facebook and shared additional ink color that would work beautifully with this collection. I appreciate that input.

Lastly, World Card Making Day is not an exclusive event. We can make cards any day of the year. You know that. This is additional encouragement to continue to do just that. Make cards. The world, your friends, maybe someone you do not know that well, could use encouragement by way of a card in the mail. We card makers have the gift of giving just that.
