here's an idea
OK, kids...here's the inspirational quote of the week:
Wish I could take credit for that one. But I can't. It's Ben's. For all his faults, he was good on the time saving and organizational things.
Which brings us to today. Work Space Wednesday.
Work Space Wednesday is an ongoing series here on the blog that shares with you what is actually working for me here in the studio. What is working on my actual work space for the making of things. Then also what is working for me by way of storage and organization. And everything in between.
You can click through HERE to find the series.
Last week we were introduced to this new, exclusive at ScrapbookCom, Small Envelope Organizer. I shared how this holds for me my smaller 4.75 x 4.75 storage envelopes. Those envelopes are home to my smaller dies like word, sprigs, smaller shape dies.
You can watch how this literally was unboxed here:
This week we are gonna chat about the Medium Envelope Organizer. This one here holds, er...um...well...the Medium Envelopes of course.
These envelopes measure in at 8.75 inches wide. And 6 inches tall.
Here's how I am initially going to use mine:
The Medium Envelope Organizer will be home to my alpha and number dies. Those dies need a bit more specialized storing in my opinion. I am using magnetic sheets (that are vent covers found at Home Depot) to organize the alphas and my numbers too. I literally got started on this project today. It's gonna take me a minute, but remember our quote of the week.
You can screen shoot that and add it to your planner if you would like. The idea is, yes, it takes time to organize. You know how chaotic it gets when new stuff arrives to your craft room. You set it aside. Other stuff comes in. You pile it on. Then you go to make something, and you can't find the goods. Or am I the only one? Please tell me I am not the only one.
My hope is by finally getting the alphas to where I can see them in their homes better that I am gonna actually use these wonderful tools more often. And it won't take me any time at all to find them. They'll just be hanging out in my Craft Room Basics Medium Envelope Organizer.
Yay. Me!
In case you missed that, organizing is important because a minute spent organizing gives a person an hour to make stuff. And THAT, my friends, is the very most important part.
So here's to another Work Space Wednesday. Hope this finds you inspired to keep organized. And to stay organized. One minute at a time.
I just started using these envelopes for some of my dies. So much easier to go through seeing them. Thanks for sharing your organization.
ReplyDeleteI am just now seeing your comment. Yes! I totally agree with that assessment. Makes it easier for sure!
