Do you have someone you follow on a social platform and they always inspire you?
They may not make like you make. But you are intrigued anyway and keep checking for new posts?
Yeah. Me too. There is a maker who is a water color artist but in a very vintage and earthy botanical way. I know. That probably made no sense at all. It's the best way I know how to explain the work.
Now. This is not a matter of wanting to make like someone else. I mean. I can't do that anyway. I can only make like me. But I can fall under the influence of another's creative spell. And that is just what this make is about. It's influenced by watercolor and wild flowers and natural textures and ethereal feels.
Oh...and a new stamp in the studio. That brand new stamp is called, simply enough, Wildflowers. And it's G O R G E O U S. I'm in love. And so I started to just play with stamps and water colors and a lot of botanical patterns that are fueling me right now.
I finally came around to inking the stamp with Distress Oxide Vintage Photo (also a new ink in the work space) on the blue from ScrapbookCom's Harvest Paper Pad. I'm a fan, friends.
Then, I fussy cut the bouquet out and simply started adding layers to this page in a new album I am playing around with.
But then, there are these Trusting Verses Stamps that are new too. So of course, I had to add a pocket. You know, pocket obsessed these days. Inside the pocket is now home to this Be Strong verse. Um. This was fun.
Also on the work space table is that 'strong' sentiment die. I really wanted to add that to the layers. So I created a negative cut on a 49 and Market ephemera tag. That then became one of the layers to this page. You know that place where you have to decide 'do I add more?' 'Does it need anything else?' That was where I came to. Then decided it was all enough.
I hope you find these Work Space Wednesday posts helpful. I am usually posting new craft room organization or storage ideas on here. And that for sure is all well and good. But this week I just wanted to share some new supplies. And how they were inspiring the papers to just be pretty.
Maybe you too have a certain someone who inspires you to explore different making than you. How can you turn those ideas into what you already do? How can that creativity inspire your creating. I tell you, it's all part of the story. It's all part of the paper play and crafting the story by way of new tools this Work Space Wednesday.
