it's just too easy
What is too easy you ask?
Glad you asked.
This is too easy:
'Watercoloring' a surface (think card front, tag, or note holder thingy).
Just let me show you how easy it is.
First and foremost, I am a little geeky over this new Makers Mat. For so many reasons.
Mainly because it cleans so easy.
I store it flat on a shelf in my craft closet.
I pull it out and place on my work space for when I wanna get messy.
And the messy cleans up so easy.
'OK...but what about how easy this is to make to make the thing?' Sorry. I digressed.
So then, I take a Distress Oxide Ink and 'smoosh' it on the surface of the Makers Mat. I repeat this as many times as I want in different colors.
Then, I use a watercolor brush, and sort of just go back and forth on this Distress Watercolor Paper until I am happy with the color. A color wash, if you will. Seriously, guys...this takes no artistic ability whatsoever. I'm not kidding. I have zero watercolor skill. And I'm pretty geeked out about the results.
Then...
Let the color wash dry.
Then...
Stamp a sentiment (or more) on the painted surface.
Couldn't help but pull out the Sizzix Stamp Tool to help make sure the stamp impression was good. Especially on watercolor paper. Using the Tool ensures I can re-stamp and get as great a sentiment image as possible.
Finally, add a few bits and things to complete the look if you will.
Told you it was fun and easy.
Now it's your turn.
Comment below if you tried this. I wanna hear how much fun you had.
