this idea currently top of mind
If you follow me at all...
if you watch my YouTube videos...
then you know this about me and the making right now:
It's important at times to make simply for the making.
This is one of those makes right here.
You can find the video tutorial right here in this video:
A couple of things went into play with this little fun make:
- I stayed with the same color palette using the Roses Paper Pad from ScrapbookCom
- Almost all the layers are die cuts made here in the studio
- If it's not a DIY die cut then a layer is a packaged die cut or ephemera piece. But not a lot of that was used.
- Not a whole lot of thought went into this make. It's layers on layers until I felt it was good.
And that is how to make for making sake. No end in mind. Actually, this came out of wanting to play with the new Scalloped Heart Die. Sometimes new products inspire the making. Sometimes a fresh box of fresh elements just makes ya wanna play with the things. That can be stamps, new dies, new paper. Anything, right?
Now this make can be added to my collection of stash (this one I actually hung on my inspiration board), and used elsewhere. Like...
- on a card front
- as a scrapbook page element
- a tag in and of itself
- a gift topper
- or simply an inspiration piece
Hope this post helps you with some ideas for making. It takes just a bit of time. And it's very satisfying to have a make for the ready. Creative play that is making for making sake.
