tragedy turned into creative goodness
As many of us could testify, there has been more than one occasion that grief has been observed. Then to watch that grief turn to a creative and positive event. It is a mystery to me to watch friends walk through profound difficulty. Then to rise from the ashes and turn it into something good.
That is what is happening right now.
If you do not already follow Becki Adams, she is a story teller and scrapbooker extraordinaire. And she has a tragic story to tell that she has turned into good.
What a gift that is. What a pillar of light she is to so many. And what good she is doing as a result of that.
To read her story please go HERE and discover all that I am alluding to.
This weekend a group of us came around to help Becki walk through a dark time in her life in a creative way. I was honored to produce a video for her video hop. You can discover all the participants HERE:

This project gave me the opportunity to take the time to document my own son's book journey. Books are such an important part of his day. He has so many favorite series. He clearly has the best reading habit of anyone in the house.
So what do you do with that? You craft a page that documents the right now. Along with some details about the books he loves in order to further the stopping of that blur around this particular moment. You make the page interactive (since you are scrapping smaller format currently) so that you can incapsulate the pulse of the story. And you make sure you include the list of books he has read this month so that it is always remembered.
The initial image is literally a daily pose I find him in. One day I just stopped and took the picture. (#takethepicture) I already knew I needed to take the time to document what fuels his soul right now. Becki Adams just furthered the want-to by creating this event in which we could participate. I am thankful to her for prompting what already needed to be done.
So what do I hope from this post? I hope several things for you if you are reading this:
I hope you will please read Becki's blog post and the Library Project she is leading.
I hope you will watch the above videos and find some inspiration for your stories.
I hope you will keep taking the picture and documenting even the little things. For they are all precious and fleeting.

This is SO Awesome!! The heartbreak of losing a child is always with us, but doing something good to honor his memory helps.💕
