new blog series: Craft Tool Tuesday
I sort of just made that up: Craft Tool Tuesday.
But here's the thing...there are so many great tools out there for crafters to utilize and take their crafting even farther.
These tools are non-consumable. Meaning you don't use them once then they are gone. They are our work horses. They are there at the ready for all the crafting and creating and making.
These tools are useful for many things:
- endless makes
- great crafter gift ideas
- stretching your stash
- exercising your creativity
Today's post is introducing the new ScrapbookCom Nested DIY Pockets. I loved them the minute I saw them. Not only are dies some of my most used tools in my studio, but these are versatile, easy to use, and hecking heck...they are pockets!!!
A couple of things to note about this die set:
- the set includes 4 dies
- the largest is 4.4 by 4.6
- the smallest is 1.6 x 2 (oh my gosh!!! it's so cute!)
- the dies are able to cut many materials including paper, foil, vellum, and other thin material
- they are also compatible with most die cutting machines
Oh...and...the most important part...they make such cute and pretty stuff!!!
While testing out these dies I just wanted to play with them and see how they configured to make a pocket. I like cutting them on my Big Shot using the Magic Mat the best. The edges are scored to fold to create the pocket and so the Magic Mat is a softer mat for that.
When I cut a sampling of all the sizes I then just used 1/8 Inch Double Sided Adhesive to then 'nest' them one on the other. This would make such a fun way to craft a card. Each of the pockets could hold a sentiment or stamped image or even a gift card in that third pocket.
Again, the great thing about tools is that the ideas and possibilities are so many. I'm going to need to brainstorm my ideas and maybe make a Nested DIY Pocket Parade with all my thinks.

Oh...and one more thing...what a great gift for your crafty bff. They would mail pretty easy because of how flat the dies are. Wouldn't you love to get this in the mail for all your makes. Dang! I would love that.
