hooray for new stamps!
Today is your day...
or any sentiment you can think of is just waiting to be placed on the page with this new Stamp Society Stamp from Heidi Swapp now available as a subscription right HERE.
Now...I'm a gonna be honest with you...it took me a bit to get the hang of this Banner Stamp set. But I also gotta say, there was joy in the playing and making and making mistakes. Well..to me they were mistakes. Perspective is everything, right?
Here was the motivation behind making with the new Stamp Society:
First...I wanted you all to know about it cause it's still available. The Stamp Society stamps have been selling out. And when they are gone...well...they are gone.
Second...I have a few birthdays on the horizon and I wanted to take advantage of the celebratory stamp set that this is and make some birthday makes. I mean...we all need something to celebrate right now, am I right?
Then there was a third motivation...that there Villainous Potion new Distress Oxide that said play with me and make stamping nirvana. So. I created this here little distress palette and just enjoyed the process.
So there is of course Villainous Potion, Spun Sugar, Bundled Sage, and then Distress Spiced Marmalade. Oh...and a little black for the banner string. Gotta say, loved playing with this mix. Gonna need to do that again.
The first thing you need to do when making with this stamp set is the sentiment. Know what you want to say. Get an idea how it is going to play out across the card or planner page or scrapbook layout. Once you know what that is going to be then you have a good start to the whole make.
Then I have already discussed the color palette. That is usually the next thing to figure out. This makes for a great way to create new color palettes you may have not tried before...or been afraid to try. I mean...afraid like me...I'm a pink and monochromatic kind of girl. But one can learn new tricks. And I am enjoying the run on color lately. You should try it too.
Then finally there is the card conception. And here is where the options are limitless too. You can make a traditional card on a traditional card base. Or you can create a vellum pocket like I did on this Art Walk pattern paper. Or you could stamp on pattern paper. Make a tag. Whatever. And I know...I get it...sometimes too may options are, well...just too many options. But I want you to trust yourself and have no expectations to outcome and just have fun.
So...grab that stamp set subscription right HERE.
Let me know if you do.
And make pretty stuff for you and for those you love.
