tis the season to be awesome

You know how I have been chatting it up about Pocket Cards of late?
Well, incase you missed it you can check out this post HERE and then right HERE.

I talked about how much we like to collect the pocket cards but maybe not really actually get them used in our crafting opportunities.

Here today I have another crafting opportunity with Pocket Cards.

I call it:

How To | Making Pocket Cards Into a Fabulous Graduation Banner

When you break it down this is how to do this:
I used the exclusive Graduation Themed Pocket Cards that are part of the Simple Scrapbooks collection over at ScrapbookCom.

I also used some of the Minc Collection for an all-star and celebratory look. Wow! did the Gold Stars Foil look outstanding against the classic black and white of the Graduation vibe. Glad I decided to give that a try.

When I added a bit of glam by way of Minc Foil to the tags then I simply punched holes at the top corners of each of the Pocket Cards and strung the cards with baker's twine.

I decided also, not only is this a cute banner to hang over a dessert bar or on a front door or above a grad's door, but it would make a great addition to a Graduation Card too. Just fold the banners over and tuck inside.

For a great idea to making a fun grad card + gift see this video HERE.

So I used the Minc Surface Pad to craft this big star. I just traced the star from an old star stencil I had here on hand. Cut it out from the Glue Sheet that is part of the Minc Surface Pad. Then ran it through the Minc per instructions. I LOVE how it turned out.

The 'congrats' is part of another Pocket Card. I just trimmed out the sentiment. V-notched the one end. Then popped it up over the star with Double Sided Adhesive Foam. Instant dimension and a great flag to the banner.

Another technique I used was to drag a glue pen along the edge of a couple of the 6x4 tags. Did you think maybe the 6x4 would be too wide a card for a banner? Me too at first. But it works very well. Was happy for the addition.

That technique looks stunning along the edge of the sold black cards. Try this. You will love the results. It simply adds another layer that makes for extra fun party embellishments.

I punched these stars from the Toner Paper that is also part of the Surface Pad. There is not a whole lot of difference between the glue pages and the toner pages. Each gave me stellar results with making these extra sparkly tags. And don't you love this sentiment? Bravo!

I love how this turned out. Now to add it to a card and give it away next week to another graduate.
