brand new Distress Color - Salvaged Patina
I was thrilled and honored that ScrapbookCom sent me the newest Distress Color:
New from Tim Holtz : Salvaged Patina
What an outstanding color this is! It is a most perfect edition to the Distress line that is now 65 colors. You can hear me ooohhh and aaaahhhh all about it HERE on the ScrapbookCom YouTube Channel. You are not going to want to miss that.
In the unboxing video I, not only unbox the new color of which I had not a clue as to what it was, but I also process several MemoryDex Cards using the new Salvaged Patina as background or embellishment on a card.
This first card above uses the Distress Embossing Glaze. I crafted a Detailed Butterfly Sizzix Die into an enameled embellishment. I was just tickled as to how beautifully it turned out. You can see how it came together in the video.
This next card was actually the first card I crafted on the video. I thought it would be good to simply create a background with the sprays first and foremost. A sort of warm up to the color if you will. It certainly was a great way to get to know Salvaged Patina.
First I sprayed Distress White HeavyStock with the Salvaged Patina Distress Spray Stain. Water helped the medium to move a bit on the substrate. When dried I added in the Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Spray...I mean...because Oxide. You can see what that did in the video. Cutting the stock with MemoryDex Dies I then processed the embellishing of the card to completion.
This next card also used two of the mediums: the Distress Oxide Spray and then the Distress Paint.
I love the Distress Paint. I can't wait to take this color to a gelli plate for some mixed media creative play. I'll keep this card tutorial for the video. But it's all there.
The response to this new Distress Color has been outstanding. You don't realize you need this color in your stash until you see it played out. I have so many ideas for the new Distress. Am sure you will be brainstorming quite a few as well. In the meantime, feel free to play along with the process video. It's a good way to get warmed up for all the Salvaged Patina making.
