slimline paper pad not just for cards
While I do love making cards, and while that is how I had my official start in the paper craft world, scrapbooking and telling my story continues to be what I think about most. And when I say think about most I mean ALL THE TIME.
When ScrapbookCom came out with the new Slimline Smooth Cardstock Paper Pads, I did in fact craft a few card ideas. But then I turned the page in my Storyline Chapters Insert and have since made several layouts with that paper line.
Slimline Paper on a Scrapbook Page
To say I am fond of this page is an understatement. Having just returned from my son's wedding in which I gained yet another beautiful daughter, I am eager to tell the story with the photos taken at that event.
Having several of the Slimline Smooth Cardstock Pads on hand makes it super easy to pick a color that would match the image. I sort of played around with this idea. I was not quite finding the right hue. And while I am not always reaching for bold colors for my story pages, I knew that photo needed something to mat and anchor it well to the page. Then I remembered I had not looked at the Christmas themed paper pad. Tah dah! That cranberry matched her cape beautifully. Was happy to have access to the Christmas paper even though it is currently not 'in season'.
The Slimline Paper Pad plays nicely with the SlimLine Dies. This little Moroccan Tile number is fast becoming a favorite. Presently I have a few more projects on my work table using that die. Will post those very soon.
Don't be afraid to use 'out of season' collections. Frankly, I kept ignoring the Christmas paper. Why did I do that? Why did I limit myself? It matters not it is intended for 'Christmas'. Besides, the wedding was officially still in winter (and it was cold enough outside social distancing to prove that), so this played out really well. Make a note to self: don't limit the paper.
If you are a card maker I hope you will grab a stash of the Slimline Paper for this on trend card size. If you are a scrapbooker, I also hope you will grab a stash of the Slimline Paper for your pages. Totally versatile paper sizes. Great for die cutting or adding in interactive books. The possibilities are endless when the crafting is made by you.
