love me a fresh start
Not saying at all that the 2020 stories that I (have not) scrapped (yet) are old stories, but there is just something to the idea of fresh new stories, fresh white pages, and fresh new embellishments to put on those pages.
While I plan to continue to use the Heidi Swapp Storyline Chapters to hold our Family Stories this next year, I still feel like it's a super fresh start. While I will continue (at this point) to use the same format as I did last year, there was just a little something I wanted to change up. This year I want to add in monthly cover pages. Starting with, of course, January, I want to give a sort of thematic start to each month.

To be honest, this page was inspired by a new stencil from ScrapbookCom. I was thrilled to get that stencil into my hands. What, with that floral and pattern. This stencil just felt like a fresh start to me.
Floral Sprigs 6x8 Stencil |
This month's cover page started with my favorite Bazzill Textured White Cardstock. I used the Texture Paste I had on hand to stencil some of the background with the floral pattern. I did not use all the 6x8 stencil to cover the entire background. Just a portion.
Also, new in the shop at ScrapbookCom, are these sweet Simple Scrapbooks Cards.
Simple Scrapbooks Everyday Cards |
Using the Everyday Card Pack, I will take the 'month' title card to create each of my monthly cover pages. The blue, yeah, I know, it's not pink...what do you know!!! I loved this card so much with it's floral touches plus blue and green hues. I found other pieces in my stash to embellish this card further. Let's see, let me give you a list of what is on this cover page:
Simple Scrapbooks Everyday Card - 3x4 January card
Heidi Swapp Old School Cardstock Stickers - label
Thank You Sentiments Decorative Die - hello die
Sizzix Hidden Leaves Die Set - berry die
Black and White Sticker Book - Choose Happy sentiment
Christmas Smooth Cardstock Pad - for the grey ‘hello’
Boho Smooth Cardstock Pad - for the ‘mint’ berries
Layers is my vibe, as you know. I just built this page from the bottom up.
First texture paste (allow it to dry really well).
The the JAN card.
The label was popped up and is hovering over the JAN card and the texture paste.
HELLO is hot glued to the label so it too appears to float.
2021 stickers (from my stash) was placed on the label and then the CHOOSE HAPPY sticker with a pop dot.
Lastly the 'berries' were die cut and tucked under the label.
Hope this page inspires you to make.
