foil up those pretty tags
Had so much fun making these little Valentine candy gifts!
Yes. There is a video. That in a minute.
So here's the thing:
I found these pretty M&M's. White Chocolate Cheesecake. OK. So the jury is out as to whether we really like these or not. But they were so pretty!!! So what does one do? One makes something pretty around pretty candy. #makersgonnamake
Here's how this happened:
To follow along you will need a couple of things: (all supplies linked below)
Minc Machine (not shown)
Minc Surface Paper Pad
Minc Foil - your choice optional. I grabbed the Gold Rose and Champagne
WRMK Pocket Punch Board - love that tool!
laminate sheets
For embellishing:
seam binding ribbon
gold thread
sequins
Art Walk Definition Stickers
a heart punch
and of course the regular tools like:
hole punch
spray ink
scissors
adhesives
How I'm Makin' a Few Valentines Process Video
First I used the vellum from the Surface Pad and the WRMK Pocket Punch Board to create a pocket. Follow the directions for the Punch Board to make pocket. Create any size desired. The one shown here is 3.25 x 4-inches. That makes a cute sized pocket that fits a serving of M&M’s nicely. Because it's all about the M&M's.
Using the Heidi Swapp Valentines Digital Bundle and my Silhouette Machine, I cut a digital word from the Glue Page that is included in the Minc Surface Pad. This will make a positive cut and a negative cut. Save the negative for using on another tag.
Minc the glue page cut with foil of choice. My choice was the Rose Gold as I was wanting to include colors a bit outside the traditional Valentine color box.
Also for this little giftable, I dyed seam binding ribbon with spray ink in a light pink. A heart shape was punched out of another piece of the Glue Page that was foiled with Champagne foil.
As an option, you can laminate the Valentine die cut and trim to a tag shape. Or you can carefully glue the delicate cut to background paper and then trim to a tag shape. The possibilites are endless. For this project I wanted to play a little with laminate sheets, so I used the Minc Machine to laminate the Valentine word between two laminate sheets. This was super fun. A technique I will be trying again.
You can see above I used the negative for another pocket tag embellishment. Adding in the same heart punch, Definition Sticker plus sequin makes for easy embellishing of these gorgeous foiled tags.
I hope this inspires you to make some Valentine cuts that can be foiled for making little candy gifts to give away. Totally going to make someone's day with something like this made by you.
