new month. fresh projects.
Welcome to a new month. Deep sigh. Can you feel it? There is a slow anticipation building for the season. For Christmas. For a new year. Keeping it positive here. Making. Creating. Crafting gifts. This month holds with it a whole lot of fresh ideas and projects. Ahh! Let's go.
To start things off I got a little creative and crafty. Cut some paper. Colored some die cuts. Using inspiration from the season, and a recent photo from a recent hike in the Rocky Mountains. I just wanted to make. Do you ever feel that way?
And here is that make.
Using the Calendar Digital Die Cut available at Scrapbook, I cut this calendar out using textured Bazzill White 12x12 Cardstock. I debated between 8 1/2x11 and a full size cut. The full size won. You may be seeing a few 12x12 projects in the near future. But that's another story and post.
What I really want to show off is the new die set by ScrapbookCom called Inspirational Life Sentiments. The name alone makes me want to grab these for every paper project here in this studio. Every. Project.
Aren't they lovely? Link found below. Let me know if you pick these up. And then I want to know how you are using these. Love. Love. Endless possiblities.
I used the same textured Bazzill paper to cut these Sentiments out. I debated whether to use another colored cardstock, or to add color to the paper first...but white...for me? almost always wins out. Do yourself a favor and put those in your cart right now. They will for sure work in a December Album too. Just sayin'.
On this October 'calendar' I backed the square that holds each of the Inspirational Life Sentiments with scraps of paper that I had previously colored using Distress Oxide Sprays. I am telling you, I need to do a post about how many times I have used that background paper that came from a creative play sesh. Don't throw anything a way. You can always reuse these lovely papers.
Then, I grabbed a label from the Black and White Sticker Book. This book comes with a page of labels. I use labels all the time for layering. They are great little, tiny canvases waiting to hold all the things. You can see that layering at work again here under that 'Life' die cut.
The last layer on this square was a Definition Sticker from the Heidi Swapp Art Walk Line. Layer up those pretty things. You just can't go wrong.
Repeat this technique two other times on the layout, that is how this page came about. One of the die cut layers was foundation to the photo I decided to add to this page last minute.
As stated just above, I decided last minute to add this photo. This layout then became an intro page to the October pages of one of my albums here at home.
A few more die cuts were added to the top left and then lower right corner. Additional Alpha Die Sets were used for the month sentiment. For now, I just really wanted to draw attention to the Inspirational Life Sentiments. These are beautiful dies. Very versatile. The uses are limitless. I promise.
Enjoy this new season. I encourage you to make. Create. And embrace all that is your life.
