How to Make Boo-tiful Gift Wrapping

seasonal gift wrapping

I'm a huge fan of the gift wrapping. So much so that friends always make excuses when they give me a gift because it's not 'my style' of presentation.

I say pishy-ca ca.

I don't care how you give me a present. BUT...I am a little obsessed about the presentation when I give a present to you! It's just how I am. There is no judgement on anyone else.

Whew. Glad we got that out of the way.

One of my favorite ways, first of all, to wrap is to use the kraft roll of paper. I usually grab this at Walmart in the shipping/office supply section. I like the dollar store also, but it's much thinner. Kraft paper makes for a great canvas to play on with stamps or no stamps, lots of tags and ribbon.

See my class HERE at BigPicture Classes. You will get even more insight into my gift wrap philosophy. Can you have a gift wrap philosophy?

So. Here's my story: I was going to wrap a gift for a Halloween themed birthday party my youngest was headed too. And one thing led to another. I grabbed the kraft paper. Then I thought about this Boo-tiful Stamp set I just received from Scrapbook.com. THEN...I went to locate a circle stamp as I was coming up with a little pattern I wanted to create on the wrapping paper. Black white baker's twine always comes in clutch.  Oh...and then I remembered the Smooth Cardstock I just picked up also from the ScrapbookCom. The orange hue from the Boho Collection was going to be a perfect combination with the kraft and black. I love when a vision comes together.

Ranger Jet Black Ink is my favorite black stamping ink to work with. I kept the pattern simple and repetitive. This here was it's own creative therapy, I tell you. What is it with repetition and creativity? When I had enough space covered I wrapped the gift, then wrapped that up with the baker's twince.

Next was the tag. I always, always add a tag to my gifts. Here is how this went:

I just used a tag I had in my stash as a template and trimmed to size.

The edges were sanded to add some distress.

The web and spider stamp was stamped offset on the lower right hand corner.

Then I used the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Botanical Borders Stamp Set for the greeting. What a great font that is! I love THAT stamp set too.

The cat was stamped on white cardstock, then I fussy cut it out. It was popped up on the left top corner, opposite side of the spider web, with foam tape.

I've been organizing my craft space, again, and re-discovered these black sequins in my stash. I used three of them to add dimension and a touch of glam.

Lastly the Hooray For You Stamp (from the Wordfetti Best Day Ever Set) was made into a little notched banner and added in with all the ribbon I employed.

I love how this came together. It was pretty simple to make. And I think it just adds a bit of 'wow' factor to the recipient. That is always the best feeling for a paper crafter when they share their creations.
