from blank page to filled
It's the beginning of a new month. New month's are great for resetting. I know I need to reset. Reconsider. Review what has happened. And refresh for what is to come.
I like a planner, a Memory Planner, to help in this process.
This post will be a walk through, a step by step, if you will, of these pages and this planner process.
The blank page. Am I right? it can terrify. It can cause me to sigh. But then...to just jump in is the best way to go. I love a blank page on the one hand for all the opportunity it represents. I hate a blank page because...well...what if I mess up. Well. We have ways around that too.
I am using the Scrapbookcom Exclusive Subway Lower Case Alphas for the date. I love the clean lines of these alphas. Having the date very clear is important to me. Just to glance and know where I am in my planner is a great utility.
Here's a tip:
Use the exclamation point for the hyphen between the numbers. Just stamp a portion of the top of the stamp, and hyphen away. Your'e welcome.
Throughout this post I will be sharing ways I fill in the days on this Storyline Chapters Planner. Quotes will very often be seen on my pages. Here I just added in lines with a ruler and pen. Then wrote a quote that I came across in the day that I did not want to forget.
Goals. Goals are almost always added to the first day of the week. This is one way to document memories, but to also keep visual the things to be accomplished in that week.
Now. Forgive me. These Heidi Swapp Alphas are not longer available. At the time of photographing these stamps they were still sort of around. I will make some suggestions here for some different alpha stamps. Scrapbookcom has a collection of alphas that would work perfect here.
But to the point: Larger alpha stamps are great for giving days of the wees titles like Zoo found here. Gee that was a great day!
Stickers as well as penned journaling is found on these pages to document the moments. Phrase stickers have been a long favorite. I added in Heidi Swapp Storyline Chapters Project Pad Stickers to these spaces to bring some focus and direction to what is happening in these spaces.
I love using an old school typewriter for notes and quotes. Kind of messy. Kind of nostalgic. Great vibe.
Sometimes an embellishment just won't work for a space. I like to cut tags in half, and use them for journal spots. These Storyline Chapters tags are a bit too tall...although I could always fold and make a sort of matchbook kind of thing. But. I didn't. Don't be afraid to make the embellishments work the way you need them to.
Ali Edwards Story Stamps very often find their way to my planner pages. The quotes and word stamps are always on point. These you will spy often in this planner. I keep my stamps close by just for this purpose.
My favorite ink pad is Archival Ink. Surprisingly, I do not experience too much bleed through on the page. I just have the best luck when I want to ink these word or phrase stamps to my page.
Is it just me? Do you let all the things crowd in on you? Or do you clean up as you go? Ha! I try. But truly, it all just crowds in on me. Every time.
I have enjoyed Heidi's Stop the Blur class. The downloads are perfect. I could use this the Good Stuff little journal card over and over again.
Those are just a few ways I go from the blank page to the filled in page.
Nothing terribly fancy. I think fairly doable. And for sure blur stopping.
