using dies for cut mats
When you fall in love with a new die set.
You take cardstock and add inks and sprays.
And you cut to your hearts content.
That is how this layout came to be.
You may never experience this, but I can hit creative walls sometimes. This was one of those times. I just did not know what to do next. However, I knew I wanted something. Ideas were swimming in my mind. But nothing was really coming to reality.
This little Tim Holtz Die was new to my stash. And so to play I went.
Watch this video to see how this came to find its rightful place on this layout of my girls.
VIDEO: Using Tim Holtz Mixed Media Die on a Scrapbook Page
Hope you can see how easy it is to put this layout together.
I am really loving this smaller size format for these stories.
As mentioned in the video when I scale down the page size they fit perfectly inside my Storyline Chapters Insert.
The title was simply made with the Storyline Chapters Thickers. These come with the raw kraft finish. While the page is all pink and pretty especially with that lattice mat, I liked the contrast of the unfinished letters. These can be stamped or painted...or left to their own unadorned finish.
These are my go to Distress Inks for Storyline Chapters. I am finding myself using these over and over again. These colors are by no means intense. For me that was a great way to start using Distress Inks. Subtle is a great place to start.
The 'lattice' die is just one of four dies included in this set. Watch the video to see the other three that are part of this mini collection.
Stay tuned for a couple more of these layouts I will be featuring a variation on a theme on this blog very soon. Because? I couldn't make just one.
