Today we are going to make #handmadefromhome. I call this a Photo Gift Folio.
It's not a full blown mini album. It's much simpler and quicker to make. Let me show you what I did:
Taking chipboard, trim out two pieces that measure 4 1/2 inches wide by 8 inches tall. (I use cereal boxes as I find that cardboard great weight for covers.)
Cover the outside of each cover with pattern paper of your choice.
To make folio binding, trim a piece of cardstock to measure 2 3/4-inches wide, and 8-inches tall.
Score long way at 1-inch. Then score a second line that is 3/4-inch from the first score.
This should leave 1-inch of cardstock on the left and right side, with a 3/4-inch middle left.
Attach the right side of the score, and the left side of the score to the inside of the chipboard.
Leave the 3/4-inch free of adhesive as this is the middle of your binding.
Cover the inside with pattern paper of choice. I chose two patterns from the Art Walk Project Pad. The right side will hold the photo stack/folio so I used a solid piece of paper.
To create the photo stack/folio inside, trim cardstock to 4-inches by 4 1/2-inches.
At the 4-inch mark of the 4 1/2-inch length, score 1/2-inch from the edge a fold line.
Repeat this five times making 5 4x4-inch cardstock mats with a 1/2-inch scored and folded edge.
Adhere the cardstock mats to create the photo stack/folio inside on the right side of the book.
These mats are now ready for 3.75-inch squared photos to adorn each one.
I thought this would make a great gift for my mother for Mother's Day. I printed out a selection of my daughter's senior photos. I knew my mom would want to have these. Am pretty sure I need one too, now.
The cover was embellished with a scrap of pattern paper I trimmed to a tag shape.
The tag holds Art Walk Stamps, Postcard Stamps, 6x12 Stickers, Definition Sticker, a punched butterfly that was also stamped with an Art Walk Texture Stamp.
I added a Color Fresh Hole Enforcement and punched a hole in the tag. The trim was attached underneath the tag and then another piece to the back. That way the folio could be tied closed.
Take a look at how the embellishments were put to work on the inside:
Hope you enjoyed this very doable #handmadeathome project. It's a quick idea for all the gift giving opportunities that make up the month of May.
