sharing my good luck in a mini album

how to tell your lucky me story
Today I am posting on the Heidi Swapp blog. The team and I regularly do a thing called Minc It Monday over there. And today's post is 5 Minc Techniques In a Mini Album.
Over here on my blog I want to share with you all the mini album I created for this post, you know, just in case you need some more story telling inspiration. I know I am ALWAYS up for that!
So much fun using Minc Gold Foils and mixed media and paper patterns in hues of green. It was a bit of a color stretch for me, if you know how I do color. Which I really don't do very well or much of...but the old girl can try new things.
The inspiration really started with that "Lucky Me" cut file I found on Silhouette Design Store. It was the perfect vibe for jump starting this album. The album contains the things that make me feel lucky: my people. Check out that cut right HERE. You know you want it.
Lots of techniques were used to craft this mini album. I love the Minc Toner Sheets for these projects. By foiling the sheet with foil first, I then cut with my Silhouette Machine. This makes a much better cut then doing it vice versa. And those stars on that Gold Stars Foil? Brilliant.
When the mini album is open, I used the same technique as for the front cover for a sort of title page with THIS cut file. I think I just really wanted to milk the look of these die cuts with the Gold Stars Foil. And there is nothing wrong with that.
The page after the vellum is sans foil. But it is interactive with the journaling under this photo.
The next page holds a full size photo with a Color Fresh Sticker to top it off. Then a little 4x4-inch interactive mini book is the next section of the mini. Using Texture Paste and another cut file I created this shamrock stencil on that page. When the texture was really really dry, I then foiled it through the machine using the Gold Glitter Sheets for the texture. Love. It.
Another photo and a bit of clustered sticker embellishing on the left. I just went through the Color Fresh Sticker Books to find green stickers. Black worked too. But then, black ALWAYS works.
I have to say it had been a long time since we had been out as a family. I think the sun and fresh air got to us a little bit. And silly photos pursued. But I do know this, these will truly be treasures worth more than a pot of gold to look back on them some day.
Don't forget the simplicity of taking a pre-printed Minc product and just simply foiling it with Gold Foil. The gold stayed on theme with my photo. And I loved the simplicity of that word art. That card made for a great page all on it's own.
Blue skies were worth their own photo.
The album ends with another silly photo. Supposedly this is how we picnic. I made a pocket with this photo by just adding adhesive on the three sides.
The green grid paper tucks inside the photo pocket. And then more Color Fresh Sticker Book Stickers find their way on the grid paper as embellishment. I just love how this mini album turned out.
Friends, we do not have to look that far to find things that we are lucky to have in our lives. Collect those photos. Write the words. And tell your lucky stories right now.
