new memorydex cards in the spinner
(edited to note: supplies have been updated and substituted as needed as of 10-01-2021)
You can almost bet...with a new collection to play with there will follow new MemoryDex cards to add to my ever growing MemoryDex Spinner
Today's installment of MemoryDex (click HERE for even more inspiration) puts a bit of a focus on this pattern paper from Heidi Swapp's Honey&Spice Collection called Happy Day.
I love this paper. And it could definitely be a hoarding issue for me. But instead, I am putting it to work. Cutting it up. And adding it to the MemDex Spinner.
For this first newly added card, I simply cut out this portion of the paper with the quote: These Are My Favorite Days. I just love that greenish hue. And I adore that mixed font and how FAVORITE is printed on the card. After trimming the card out, the edges were distressed. A little notched tag was added to the top with a tiny attacher. Then to finish it I chose one of the vellum floral pieces from the Ephemera set. Let me tell you right now, if you have not purchased already, you will want more than one pack of the Ephemera. I'm not even kidding.
The next card is a variation on the first. This is a favorite way for me to create...to take an existing idea and discover ways to change it up.
The 'a note to brighten your day' cut away was trimmed out from the 12x12 pattern paper. And taking that ever so most awesome ever Alpha Stamp Set I added a quote to the card.
(The image shows a black ink pad, but I changed my mind right before adding the quote and used a Distress Oxide Tattered Rose Ink Pad).
I love this quote by Stephen Covey I just heard very recently. I mean...how perfect is that? I love that the card is a little extra tall. I love that it sits in my spinner and reminds me how to carry on. I love too that I could always slip this into an envelope and send it to a friend. It just covers so many loves for me. And did I say I loved that Alpha Stamp Set? To. Die.
Every since seeing all of Paige Evan's recent Memory Dex creations I have been thinking about adding an envelope to my collection. While having done this before quite a few times, I was renewed to do again right now using some of the Happy Day cut-aways as pieces for the inside.
To make this I cut an envelope out on the Wallflower Pattern Paper. Then I gathered tags from the Tag Set as well as, like I said, a few of the cut-aways.
I love how this turned out. It's just pretty, you know? So many of these cut-away cards are perfect just to themselves. I love to have them at the ready. To just peruse the Spinner and look at all the things I have collected. It's a paper crafter thing, and I know you get me.
Last card to share with you today:
This will also serve as my title card..meaning...I am using one of the Monthly Tabbed Cards as the base of this MemoryDex card. This card will be the first of my October cards that I add to the Spinner as I like to keep these creations organized by month.
The cut-away card used here is the black pattern quote card. It is layered up against that huge floral from the Ephemera. Remember the Ephemera...buy more than one! The 'good vibes' is also from the Happy Day cut-away paper. It is stapled to the back of the quote card to serve as a bit of a tab. Under all the floral goodness is a foundation of Washi Tape.
I can't wait to see what you do with Honey and Spice and Memory Dex. Honestly, this is a collection that makes beautiful things so easily. And isn't that just what we paper crafters love and want in our lives.
