remember or you'll forget
Firstly let me point you to the HeidiSwapp blog for the entire post for this July Dashboard look. There I talk about why now is a good time to re-amp your planner game.
Here today I would like to chat real quick about another idea floating around in my head. My 18 year old recently told me I have a lot of thoughts always in my head. She is not wrong.
Document everything. Adam Kurtz talks about this in one of his books and I WISH I could remember which one. Apparently I did not document that.
My oldest daughter just asked me for a Memory Planner recently. I gave her one. She's been tending to it. So the inevitable question came. I overheard her saying to herself: "Now what did I do on Saturday?'
See? See how quickly that happens.
Maybe you don't want to remember what happened on Saturday. That's OK. But I know I do. These days I feel lost if I don't have record of what I did.
So for me personally the documenting thing continues. Not only does it continue, I also continue to figure out how to be a bit more thorough at this documenting thing. The idea to document everything. Are you following this?
One thing that is needed is renewal. Which is why the Heidi post from yesterday is helpful. In that post I really did try to provide some compelling reasons as to why is an OK time to start Memory Planning..or...
OR...why now is a good time to amp it up. Renew your commitment. Refine the why and how.
That's what I have been doing anyway.
Document everything. Everyday.
Here are a few more ways to make that happen if you need some help:
First...let me hear from you. You have questions? You stumped? Leave me a comment or tag me on IG (@jamiepate). There is a lovely friend on IG who has relayed to me her frustration with Memory Planner and the keeping up. And most recently let me know that she caught up to her expectation. I loved hearing that!
Second. If you need to refresh your supplies I have listed below my favorite go-to's for this large planner that I have used this year. Sometimes you just need some fresh stash to refresh what you have going on. And...that pretty stash just makes you happy.
Oh...and then...document everything.
