are you a card maker?
ever looking for a few new techniques to craft beautiful and unique cards?

Card making was one of the first paper crafting mediums I followed when I delved head long into paper crafts a few decades back.
And I still find myself enticed by those smallish canvases. These simple little paper crafts are perfect ways to make pretty stuff and then send them to a friend. And you know how much that friend will love the thought and crafting.

For this springy and airy card I have pulled together several mediums with which to work with. This card includes American Crafts Clear Plastic...a must have in anyone's craft stash.
And then that there Vicki Boutin Coral Macaroon acrylic paint...gotta say...use that one ALL THE TIME.
And then of course a stencil to utilize with said acrylic.
So here is what this looks like:

The Plastic Sheet was first die cut into a butterfly shape.
Then the stencil was laid over the butterfly and I stenciled the Color Pop paint over the stencil and onto the plastic shape.
This created the main embellishment of the card.

The card base was stenciled with the Vicki Boutin Iridescent Glitter Texture Paste.

That is some of my most favorite texture paste ever! It leaves behind a beautiful, subtle texture of a clear paste that is be deckled with layers of iridescent texture and delicate color. One really needs to try this to appreciate the gorgeous technique that this texture creates.

The card flap itself was made in the shape of a circle. WeRMemoryKeepers Circle Spin and Trim came in handy for that job. Using Heidi Swapp Color Fresh Pattern Paper, I cut a circle using the WRMK tool. It cuts so well and is very easy to use.

The plastic butterfly shape was stapled to this trimmed pattern paper circle.

Under the circle flap I stamped a sentiment from the Color Fresh Stamp Set. A piece of Color Fresh Washi added some attention to the inside of the card.

The card was assembled onto the Texture Paste backer. Then a sticker from Color Fresh Sticker book finished off the whole vibe.

Grab a few of theses supplies. And play around with a few new techniques for creating fabulous and beautiful cards.

    1. I may or may not be using that paint on all the things. It's such a great pink! I can't even believe how well it goes with so much of the pinks in my current stash. Thanks for noticing.

    1. Yes! That is fantastic to hear! Was just saying to another fellow creative...sometimes we need to see a visual inspiration to give ourselves permission to step outside of our self made boxes. I find this true again and again. Thank you for stopping in. And keep on creating outside of the box!!!
