how to have a thankful heart

Thankful Heart Tag Album
One of many things I really try to relay in the memory keeping process is the power of gratitude and remembrance that the act of creating brings.
I came across this digital paper craft kit over at Sahin Designs. It's called My Tribe. It's a beautiful combination of uplifting family memories fused in with beautiful aspects of the virtue of gratitude. I had to buy the whole collection. The Elements. The Papers. And the Cards.
There is a story that goes with the photos found in this little mini tag album.
As I was pulling out my box of fall decor, this banner, filled with these photos, fell out. I had crafted the banner from a class from Jessica Sprague and Heidi Swapp called Mouse Paper Scissors Holidays a few years back. The banner was a little worse for wear. But, of course, as always happens, as I was going through the photos, my heart melted over all the memories.
And so a re-do was in order for those photos and papers.
While I kept several of the photos on their original paper mats, I trimmed them down a bit. And even re-did a few photos on another backer all together. Like this image of my little guy. The 'This Is My Tribe' card is from the My Tribe Cards kit. I just added it to the album and adhered his photo to the bottom end of the tag.
This tag stayed just as it was. The word phrases are from the Mouse Paper Scissors class kit.
Here the notched paper was trimmed down a bit. The photo mat was kept in place. However, I created a cut file with a couple of the Elements kit pieces and popped them on this page. One of my all time fav pics of all my people. I wonder if they even know how much I love them.
When it comes to digital scrapbook kits, I always revert to the hybrid. And no less with these kits here. The label and 'A Harvest of Love' is from the Elements. The circle is punched from the original paper to this banner.
Not shown is the very back part of the mini album. I took extra chipboard from my stash. I covered the front and back with cardstock paper. This gave the whole album a bit more structure. The album is right around 4x6-inches in dimension.
I absolutely enjoyed re-creating this mini album. Taking what I would not necessarily hang as a banner and converting it into a table top album. Re-living all these moments and people was the best gift of all in the making.
Even older photos can bring many reasons for a thankful heart.
Thank you for visiting.
I do not design for Sahin Designs. I simply purchased her kit and wanted to share the lovliness with you.
