I am a faith-journaler. It's a morning routine for me to start the day in Scripture. Study. And writing.

Oh...and often I can be found faith journaling too. In a creative fashion.

What is faith-journaling you say?
Well...my version is pretty simple.
Get creative in your daily journal and write and create about your Bible reading and prayer.
And Kerri Bradford has stepped it up just a bit with these brand new stamps from her line called Versed.
How great is that brand name?

I am opting to play around with this set first...Versed: Note It.

Because those hand drawn words...are everything.

My choice of stamp ink for almost anything is an archival ink and I most usually just stick with black. If I want to add any color I highlight with colored pencils or markers. But that's for another post. Another day.

There are more than a few approaches to faith-journaling. One way, for me, is to do what I know. I know paper and scrapbooking. For these pages I just went with a scrapbook type layout.
Paper is adhered first, as my base.

After the base is adhered to the pages of my traveler's notebook (here I am using a 4 1/2 x 8-inch size) then I embellish with more paper, and of course the Noted stamps from Kerri's collection.

One of the stamps found it's way on a scrap piece of white cardstock. I notched the paper after stamping the sentiment and then layered that piece over a few other notched pieces of pattern paper. A mini staple keeps it all together.

The 'faith' stamp is what inspired this whole page spread. That word has been working it's way into my heart in a new and fresh way of late.

One of my approaches when I am thinking on a word like 'faith' is to go to the Word and look up verses that I am going over in my mind. I then will look that portion of scripture up in The Message version. I always find new and fresh insight into the verse or subject every time. I used Kerri's little box stamp to create a bullet point of these ideas.

A little technique tip:
stamp the word sideways on the page
underline and doodle a little with your pen
add another stamped image, like the cross one seen here, to add more detail

Here's the point of the journal for me:
as I work the page, add the paper, stamp the images, write the words, I am focused with intention on the theme of the page. I ruminate over the word and it's meaning and how to better apply the virtue to my life.

That's the point of a faith journal for me. And I invite you to start one for you. Keep it simple. Make it elaborate. But be sure to check out Kerri's stamps to help keep it on task.
