sugar skull ~ heidi swapp
8.22.2016
It's right around the corner. Fall and Halloween.
Last year Heidi Swapp introduced a collection of Marquee Love Halloween themed kits. And this year they are back. And just as fun, if not funner (it's a word) then ever. And...they can all be found at Michaels.
Here's what's so great about this year's Sugar Skull Kit.
This year's kit, of course, includes the Marquee Love skull shape. The sugar skull template is all ready to pop right into that there shape. Bulbs and lights are included as always. But this year the kit includes a collection of florals ready to glam up that there girl.
To start I used the black glitter tape. The Marquee Love Halloween Collection includes plenty of accessories that only add to these kits. I added the tape all around the outer edge of the skull shape.
After the tape was adhered, the template was slipped into place. At this point I added the bulbs to the front of the Marquee Light.
When the lights were in place, I took to glamming her up. A black tulle bow adorns her...um...her skull.
This is where the floral pieces come into play. Using a hot glue gun, I attached the flowers sort of in a random fashion. I even took a few of the flowers apart so that they would lay flatter.
A few strips of ribbon, also found at Michaels, were tucked into place here and there. And I just think she is a lot of fun.
All ready for Dia de Muertos.
I adore the pure fun factor of this sugar skull. I love how easy these kits are to put together. And I enjoy how it adds simple fun to a festive time of year.

Tulle and ribbon ALL can be found at Michaels stores.
