c'est la vie ~ cards
1.29.2016
C'est La Vie...just one of those collections that makes itself pretty on any project. The pinks and the black florals. Swoon-worthy.
Sharing a few cards today with Pink Paislee's new C'est La Vie. I challenged myself to use one pattern paper as the springboard for a tag and some cards.
This is Paper 03. The black and white floral side is my favorite. But the watercolored coral wash with geometric watermark is stunning too. Let me show what I came up with.
supplies:
Paper 03
Word Jumble
Puffy Stickers
To make this tag, I trimmed out Paper 03 with a tag template. Wrapped a doily around the edge. Trimmed scraps of other pattern paper to little banners with notched edges. These were sewn on the edge. Next I popped a heart strip from the Word Jumble Stickers. And below that a puffy heart from the Puffy Stickers and a gold heart that just happened to be on my work table. It was just that simple.
This card is sort of a go-to template for me. You may recognize it as I have recently used this sketch on another card. It is a fun little creative challenge to take a card sketch and then use a completely different collection with it to uncover a whole new vibe.
supples:
Paper 03
Washi
Ephemera
Word Jumble
Chipboard Alphabet
Puffy Stickers
Card stock was made into a pocket by sewing up the two sides. An envelope was created with the Paper 03. I just took another envelope apart and used as a template. Trace. Cut. Score. Fold. After attaching the envelope to the card stock pocket I simply layered washi tape with a ticket and the gold foil 'hello' from the Ephemera pack. A couple of the gold on black Word Jumble Stickers along with a Puffy Sticker and a punched mini butterfly finishes the right corner embellishment cluster. And then a Chipboard Alpha hashtag in front of the hello completes the card.
Hello sems to be a theme on these cards today. Sort of a trendy, pop-culture phrase right now, sort of.
supplies:
Paper03
Paper01
Washi
Ephemera
Cork Stickers
This is sort of a classic card design here. Card stock as the base. And the geometric side of Paper03 matted on front. If you buy one pattern paper from C'est La Vie...I highly suggest Paper01.
This is a great cut-away paper. Lots of words and patterns. It can go a long way in your paper crafting projects. And who can't use a yellow polka dot?
Enjoy the inspiration here. Perhaps some mojo for your weekend crafting. These cards would be beautiful ideas for non-traditional Valentine gifts too.
Enjoy the weekend!
