Welcome, friends, to October...
A fun and festive time of the year...
Life can be relentless. Difficult. Strained at times.
This is why we celebrate...
even cooky little festive times like going door to door and begging Trick or Treating for candy...
because it's fun and brings joy and we all need that in our lives midst all the work and school and schedules.
Love this little Marquee Love Pumpkin and want to share my take on how I put him together...
he is a him...right?
The paper Marquee Love Pumpkin is available at Michaels Stores and comes with lights, bulb covers and even an instruction guide on how to string the lights in the back. It's just so easy.
Lots of MarqueeLove tape available to choose from to decorate the pumpkin. I chose the spider web washi tape because I knew I wanted to stay with some black and white simplicity. You'll see why in a minute.
While shopping at Michaels recently I came across chalk board paper. Yeah...I know!!! How cool is that!?!? I used the pumpkin template that is included in the box and traced the chalkboard paper then trimmed it out in it's pumpkin shape. Yes!
Then the paper was all ready to slip into the pumpkin marquee form. At this point I used a pencil and poked holes for the lights and bulbs. I just find this easier to insert the bulb covers. And that's just what I did next...first pop in the bulb covers, and then follow the directions that are on the included insert and string the lights into the back.
THEN...use regular old chalk, and add a word...or two...I chose BOO! Cause...it's Halloween...see what I did there?
Ta Dah! This is what it looks like all lit up and boo-like.
My house is in the middle of being transformed for fall and the festivities that happen at the end of the month. My chalkboard Marquee Love Pumpkin is the center of this vignette...one of many.
OK..now... Heidi Swapp and Crate Paper have a line of Minc Halloween products available...like this Gallery Print that I foiled with Orange Reactive Foil. Check out Scrapbook.com if ya can't find them anywhere...yeah...I know...how great is that???
But wait...there's more...
Not only are the Gallery Prints Minc -worthy...there is Ephemera to be had too! I foiled a few pieces with the Orange Foil, and strung twine through the tops of them and hung them on branches from an old twig. Hmmm...I like it!
So here is to a little twist on the Marquee Love for Halloween by making the center chalkboard ready. Add a Gallery Print or two, hang the Ephemera, and you are on your way to a month of fall festivities.
supplies: Marquee Love: Pumpkin, Spider Web Washi Tape. Minc: Minc Machine, Orange Reactive Foil, Gallery Prints, Ephemera.
