Today...
I want to invite you to a happy birthday party...
A birthday celebrating the newest 12 year old Pate...
This girl thinks she is 21...but she may have a bit of a number reversal issue goin' on.
So once upon a time we decided to have a little pretty gold and mint and orange and pink party.
The inspiration for this party were the DIY kits from Pink Paislee that, truly, made this party a sparkly and beautiful impression on the guests.
First we had to send out invitations. This kit from Pink Paislee included confetti cards, envelopes and address wraps. Vellum and chipboard elements were included along with adhesive pop dots to put it all together. Actually, I did not put them together, my daughter did. After all, it's her party.
One of the kits is a Banner Craft Kit. The kit includes mint pattern banner pieces, smaller gold outlined banner cards. Plus several gold letters to spell an array of sentiments.
I just went old school with 'celebrate'. But there are many options.
The table was set with pieces from the Party Craft Kit. I did not have to get too creative. With all that is included with this kit, it just makes itself pretty. I used most of the pieces as they were...because why mess with gold foil, glitter and colorful elements. The pieces were all just beautiful as they were.
The kit comes ready with everything you need for a party of 12 guests. We had six guests, so I have enough for another party...hmmm...
There are place cards decked with gold glitter. The little flags are included and can be wrapped around the mint striped paper straws, but I poked them into the place cards which made for a little favor for the guest to take home.
Also, included in the kit, these gorgeous gold and black printed place mats. You will find I used these in a few places. The craft kit also includes 155 pieces of table confetti. What? Those were simply placed on the table and I cannot tell you how beautifully they added to the festivities of the setting. I loved what those pieces did to my table.
Also in the Party Craft Kit were these sweet treat bags.
We filled these with little goodies and handed them out as the guests left. Enjoy indeed!
As the saying goes, a party without cake is just a meeting. And a cake without a topper is just food. The gold foil 'Hooray' topper is also included...I know...right?!?!?
I mean are you kidding me right now...? how pretty is that??? (cake baked and decorated by my oldest daughter).
The Party Kit includes a mini banner, the triangle pieces there are included. But...remember the 'celebrate' banner from early on? The circle pieces here are part of that kit. I just combined the two for...
The Gumball Necklace station.
One of the crafts for the party was to make Gumball Necklaces. Yes. Yes I did poke holes in each gumball...ha ha..
After the guests arrived, they took a little field trip to the park for an ice breaker. When they returned to the house, they crafted! These girls were a hoot creating birthday crowns. The talk and laughter and girlieness was adorable.
I can't believe they did this for almost over an hour...I had to make them quit so we could eat!
While the girls finished their crowns, I finished up the food and table setting. The menu included:
Cucumber Sandwiches
Strawberry Roll-ups
Cheese Cubes
Pretzel Rods
Green Grapes
Orange Soda
Toasted Coconut Cake
I think they may have enjoyed themselves...
at least I hope so...
What do you think?
