Want to share with you today how I dressed up just one of the icons...one of my fav icons that is...the arrow.
Well, truth be known...I did not embellish it for me...as my oldest daughter has taken it over.
But I digress...
This is how it went:
For this arrow the idea was to keep it fairly simple. I decided on the animal print pattern as it has this fabulous gold foil added to the mix...and it is just so fun and gorgeous.
There is a template included in the package...using it the arrow was traced to the back of the pattern paper. I went ahead and punched holes where the lights should be as well, just to make it a tad easier to attach those.
The lights were installed after the paper was in place. It seemed easier to push in the bulb covers first, then the lights. Hold the lights in place on the back, and screw the bulb cover around the light. That seemed to work the best. And make sure to not miss a space. Not that that happened to me or anything.
The next thing to decide was to add rub ons to the edges. Since this was for my daughter, she already voted yes. Add the rub-ons. I mean are you kidding me?…they are like $1.49 here in the States. Killer deal. Yay for the rub-ons.
And this what it looks like from the top.
While this version of Heidi's marquee letters include hangers in the back to easily hang on a wall, I opted to sit the arrow on one of my daughters shelves instead.
It's just too easy to create these little gems and decorate in any fashion that fits your home...or daughters room if that be the case. Hoping this inspires you a little to make your space your own, with some diy and marquee.
