When I first came upon Jot Magazine I was amazed at the creative beauty that went into that magazine. It is such a wonderful resource of inspiration and ideas for documenting life. Then I dared to apply for Jot Girls 2015... and to my amazement was asked to be apart of that team!
Today I want to highlight one of my layouts from Issue 9.
The theme for this gallery was Oh Deer. I created a cut file that you can find here at the Sizzix eShape store. And that was the focus of these photos.
The oh deer is how I feel most often when these two hang around together. Because this daughter is with me and being home educated this year, her brother gets a lot of face time with her. These are special moments we get to all have together. To sort of slow down. Take a walk on the trail. Find out what we can discover. And simply create a memory together.
I used a mix of DearLizzy and MaggieHolmes embellishments as well as an old stash from RhonnaFarrers line a few years back. The deer was cut out with watercolor paper and then I washed it with watercolor.
The background paper is also a bit of stash from HeidiSwapp's Hello Today line. Still some of my favorite patterns found in that collection.
Capturing these little moments bring me right back to the point in time when I go back and view this a few years from now. I so easily forget, so this is why it is so important to me to document life right now. Even a simple sibling time walking the trails.
Pretty 😊 I love that little embellishment cluster!
