magnet closure mini

The projects I enjoy making the most are usually gifts.

And this mini is no exception.

This mini is based on the magnetic closure mini that Heidi Swapp demonstrates here.
I saw it first on pinterest.
This proves that pinterest is not just a place to waste research creative ideas.
The trick is to actually use the ideas found and, well, as Heidi likes to say, 'make pretty stuff'.

Not only is the magnetic closure simply adorable...
but I am all over the Follow Your Heart papers designed by Rhonna Farrer for My Mind's Eye.
The Be Happy collection was used for this book. I simply love it!
The colors sing of spring.
The word art is exceedingly inspiring.
The subtle patterns of each paper add beautiful texture and depth.

The book measures 6x6.
The smaller flap holds a magnet and clasps shut against the front cover.
These covers were made with book board to give it plenty of structure.

The Be Happy papers were the foundation for each page.
Plenty of digi elements that were preprinted were added to the miniature layouts, and were mostly from the RhonnaDESIGNS shop.

The book was made for my California friend.
I trekked out early March for a much needed girlfriend weekend.

We thrifted. ate. went to the beach. shopped. got creative. laughed. ate.
I was so happy and refreshed when our time came to a close.
Makes using papers called Be Happy more than apropos for such an album.

I am so thankful for this creative outlet to relay to her how happy SHE makes me.
She loves me no matter what.
And I hope I showed her the same with these photos, words, and prettiness.
